Alzheimer's RiskIncreasing risks of Alzheimer’s disease have become one of the great concerns of modern time’s health care specialists. It is a known fact that in the era of technological breakthroughs and amazing technical decisions most of us started complaining about decreased memory function, reduced ability to focus and impaired brain function. Caused by reduced necessity to use our brain even in easy daily functions (calculating, making plans, using logic for making decisions, etc.), the mentioned factors are the strongest prediction for mass epidemic of brain function decline, leading to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia like brain disorders becoming absolutely normal condition for aging and even middle aged people. This tendency is a very serious threat to healthy development of modern society, that is why there are plenty of discussions and scientific works are going in order to find effective solutions to prevent public brain function decline.

A lot is said and written about how to reduce and substantially lower Alzheimer’s risks. We are offered to use some special natural formulas and various effective herbal remedies like Ginkgo Biloba or Black Walnut to reduce risk of Alzheimer’s disease. We are offered to go through some easy tests and keep our brain function up by doing some regular exercises for our brain. We’re advised to lead a healthy active lifestyle and consume healthy natural foods for brain (see the info in this article). risk of Alzheimer's diseaseIt is interesting that scientists are looking at such factor as healthy diet with a great interest, and there is plenty of studies going on to develop special guidelines and special diet recommendations for those who want to use such tool as healthy eating in order to lower Alzheimer’s risk. Recently, the findings were published saying that using a low carb and a high fat diet can assist us in slowing down the development of brain problems and reduce our chances to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease.

A group of scientists in Colorado state reported about completing their scientific work on analyzing the effects of various diets on Alzheimer’s risk in rodents. They experimented with a group of lab mice with a condition equivalent to Alzheimer’s disease in humans. The experiments involved giving the mice various types of diet and analyzing the effects of those. It turned out that giving the diet high in natural fat and low in natural carbohydrates is linked to reduced amounts of beta-amyloids known as markers of approaching Alzheimer’s disease. It is very interesting that a number of previous studies have demonstrated totally opposite effects of a high fat diet. It has been believed that consuming a high fat diet can favor the development of dementia like brain disorders by possible clogging the arteries up, slowing down blood circulation and decreasing brain function this way. However, the current study has found scientific evidence to the fact that fat can support brain function, at least in lab mice, as the scientists say.

Moreover, Colorado scientists have their own hypothesis as to why a high fat and low carb diet can be good for Alzheimer’s risk decreasing. They are convinced that such factor as insulin and insulin-related processes in human brain can play a role. According to the researchers, it seems that insulin works great for breaking up beta-amyloid and reduce brain function decline. At the same time, when the diet is high in carbs, the mentioned properties of insulin decrease, therefor a low carb and high fat diet can be the best solution for reducing risk for Alzheimer’s disease. Another study has shown that it is very important to support our diet with plenty of natural vitamins and minerals in order to reduce chances to develop this type of dementia. It is very important for all of us to be aware about the risks and protect ourselves from this terrible disease, in order to live a longer and happier life!
