However, it is essential to remember that to maximize the effects of a mono-diet, it is possible to use it only for 2-3 days. All nutritionists are sure that mono-diets can be very harmful in a long-term perspective.

Experts recommend using mono-diets once or twice per week for 3-4 weeks. For example, a weekend can be an ideal time for using a mono-diet for your health. Depending on what type of food you’ve selected, there can be daily limitations on the amounts of the food to be consumed. For example, the foods like apples, tomatoes or grapefruit can be consumed virtually in unlimited amounts (within reason, of course), but if you prefer using grape, cheese, or other foods rich in carbs or glucose, you should limit your daily consumption of this food. It is reported that by using mono-diets it is possible to lose up to 10-12 pounds. Also, a sufficient water consumption while using a mono-diet is essential.
