improper dietIn my previous post about the signs of an improper diet you can find some interesting information about such negative signs and symptoms of a bad diet as constant hunger, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, worry, depression, impaired memory and so on. However, there can also be physical signs and symptoms showing that our nutrition is unhealthy and improper. Check out the list below and see if you have one of the symptoms mentioned, then you may need to review your daily diet and nutritional habits.

1. Dry skin. This condition is not always caused by certain climatic conditions, and it can be taken as a sign of an improper diet. Specialists believe that dry skin is a result of imbalanced nutrition and a lack of vitamin E in your diet. Using such natural sources of this Vitamin as beans, cereals, all green leafy veggies, nuts, seeds, sweet potatoes, olive oil, pumpkin, tomatoes, broccoli and so on, as well as moisturizing skin care products will help you to improve your skin quality in a short while.

2. daily dietBrittle nails. A certain lack of vitamins or nutrients in our body can cause our nails become fragile, soft and brittle. Usually, it is a symptom of a lack of calcium, vitamin E and proteins in your daily diet. Try to eat more foods rich in these elements. 3. Hair loss. This problem is usually caused by a variety of reasons, starting from hormonal changes linked with adolescence and PMS, and ending with genetic predisposition or increased number of stresses. However, specialists agree that nutrition plays an important role for slowing down hair loss. Those who suffer from this problem should increase their daily consumption of such vitamins and nutrients as proteins, vitamins D and A, as well as zinc, calcium and other microelements.

4. Bleeding gums. Bleeding gums is a very bad sign, and it can mean not only poor dental care or be treated as an outbreak of gum disease. If your gums bleed every time you brush your teeth, remember that this can be caused by a lack of vitamin C in your daily diet (especially if this sign is accompanied with dry mouth and dry lips). Try adding to your daily diet more of natural sources of this vitamin (citrus fruit, berries, kale, cauliflower, bell peppers, broccoli and so on), or use special vitamin supplements.

5. Weak bones. This symptom, though not easy to be detected, signals about a lack in your daily diet of such elements as calcium, phosphorus and proteins. Weak bones is one of common side effects of many low calorie diets. Dietary sources of calcium include dairy products, fish and others. Also, it would be good to increase the amounts of vitamin D in your body: enjoy gentle morning sun for 10-15 minutes, and you’ll refuel your body with vitamin D.
